Messages and Musings from the President
My name is Ellen Sharon, and I would like to thank you for visiting our site today. For those who don't know me, I am the founder and President of CompetitivEdge. For those who do know me, I'm the one who answers the phone unless I'm out walking one of our dogs.
I founded CompetitivEdge in 1991, at the height of a recession, before the Internet had gone mainstream, and blissfully unaware that the research company in my spare bedroom would soon tackle three established companies who had been around for cumulatively about 300 years. And I'm a CPA by training, not exactly a professional group recognized as being cutting-edge risk takers.
As we start our ninth year in business, I can honestly say that each passing year poses more exciting challenges to meet, and each year I feel better about our products and services, our staff, and our future.
After three moves to accommodate growth, and a constantly expanding roster of fascinating clients, I find myself with an awful lot to be grateful for.
I would like to thank my staff for their enthusiasm, commitment to excellence, raw talent and dedication to meeting our clients' needs. I would like to thank our clients for their support and help in exploring new products and enhancements, for their referrals, and for being some of the nicest individuals on earth to work with. I would like to also thank the many friends of CompetitivEdge -- past clients, vendors, former employees and many others -- who recommend our service, act as a sounding board, and otherwise do what friends do.
If you've poked around our site a bit, I think you've discovered more than a bit of my philosophy. That hard work and laughter should go hand in hand. That serious news is not an excuse to take yourself too seriously. That doing the right thing is more important than winning every time.
We're going to keep on delivering big company results with a small company's touch. If you've had just the opposite treatment from another clipping service, I think you'll be glad you found us.
