CompetitivEdge's Electronic Clipping service is not appropriate for every need, so we want to let you know what our limitations are.  We have no intention of misleading or disappointing anyone.

  Small circulation papers and weeklies are, in general, not available electronically to us yet. If small paper coverage in your local area is important to your efforts, you may wish to supplement your CompetitivEdge program with a local clipping service.

  The Wall Street Journal is not monitored by us. (We have been unsuccessful in arranging redistribution rights with the WSJ.)

  Photos are not available. Your clips will, however, include a description of any graphics which ran with a story.

  We do not provide actual newsprint. If you want odd-sized clippings that curl and turn yellow, you'll have to go to a traditional clipping service.

  We automatically monitor all sources currently available in the various libraries we search. However, we have no direct ability to add a specific publication that is missing. (Do let us know if there's something you need, and we will notify our library database services.)

  Advertisements are not available electronically. This usually includes advertising supplements.

  Our library contracts prohibit us from posting materials directly to your internet or intranet site, so we cannot maintain your news site for you.

  While CompetitivEdge places no restrictions on how you use your clippings, most clips are copyrighted. We recommend that you consult your legal counsel before reproducing, distributing or posting clippings.

Because CompetitivEdge is committed to constantly adapting to changing technology, we envision a day when these limitations will disappear. With a constant commitment to change, CompetitivEdge hopes to always be evolving, expanding and improving.
